January 1916, the second year of the great war. As the new year began, the refinement of the German front began to stabilise as they settled in their new positions and defended all fronts. Through the course of the war in 1915, the Kaiser's armies pushed deep into Russian territory crushing the Czar's capability to mount any substantial counter-offensive against them.
