Unsettled - Season 1 Episode 10: Reunited
Description
Unsettled (2021) is a Canadian drama series that follows Rayna Keetch, an Indigenous woman taken from her family during the Sixties Scoop and raised in Toronto. When her husband’s business fails, the couple and their children move to Rayna’s home community on a Northern Ontario First Nation. What begins as a temporary move quickly becomes an emotional journey of reconnection, as Rayna faces the family and community she was separated from, while trying to rebuild her identity and sense of belonging. Created by Jennifer Podemski and Derek Diorio, the show was filmed almost entirely on the Nipissing First Nation. With a cast made up almost completely of Indigenous actors and significant portions of dialogue in the Ojibwe language, the series offers an authentic and nuanced portrayal of Indigenous life, exploring themes of family, culture, trauma, and healing.
